Experimental Study of Dilantin sodium on Rats Oral Mucosa

Abstract
|
|
|
After subcutaneous injections of 100mg/kg body weight of dilantin sodium to rats, the author observed following results.
1) Keratinization of oral mucous epithelium was highly increased.
2) Connective tissue of oral mucosa showed elevated fibroblastic activity with pronounced collagen fiber formation.
3) Histochemical staining reactions suggested a substitution of glycoproteins for mucopolysaccharides staining material in the connective tissue was noted.
4) Increase in the glycoproteins and mucopolysaccharides staining material in the connective tissue was noted.
